  • Ashwin Mahalingam
    Ashwin Mahalingam
    Professor, IIT Madras

    Dr. Ashwin Mahalingam is Associate Professor at the Building Technology and Construction Management division of the Civil Engineering Department at IIT-Madras. Dr. Mahalingam’s current research interests include Public Private Partnerships in Infrastructure, Megaproject governance and management, IT based Innovation in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, and ways in which organizations react to the globalization of engineering services. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Civil Engineering from Stanford University and a B.Tech from IIT Madras. Ashwin is a Director on the boards of several infrastructure project companies and is also involved in setting up the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem at IIT-Madras

  • Bindhu Bhuma
    Bindhu Bhuma
    Project Associate, ClimACT-Chennai

    Bindhu is an Architect and Urban Development Researcher based in Chennai. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the MEASI Academy of Architecture, Chennai, and an M. Sc. in Sustainable Urban Development and Humanitarian Architecture from the International University of Catalonia (UIC), Barcelona, Spain. She was a former SBI Youth for India fellow and worked closely with NGOs, Local Governments, and communities on sustainable rural development initiatives. She is working towards being a solution facilitator in the socio-spatial aspects of challenging environments, communities, and systems. Her strong passion to facilitate and empower communities, environments, and the betterment of society has led her to adhere to the social and development sector.

  • Dr. D. Raghunandan
    Dr. D. Raghunandan
    Climate Lead, ClimACT-Chennai

    Raghunandan is an active founder-member of and volunteers with Delhi Science Forum (DSF), a reputed non-profit “think tank”. In DSF, his focus is on Environment and Climate Change, Renewable Energy, Aerospace, Defence and Strategic Studies, and the Public Understanding of Science.

  • Dr. Shivraj Dhaka

    Shivraj has over 16 years of rich experience in industry and academia. He has been awarded DAAD Fellowship for research at ‘Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany’. ASHRAE awarded scholarships to Shivraj and presently he is RRL at ASHRAE Region-At-Large to advocate on ‘Energy Efficiency and Net Zero’.

    At Indian Green Building Council, Shivraj heads Green Building Certification of Commercial Establishments. Along with this, he leads Green and Net Zero cooperation projects.

    Building Simulation, Standards & Codes of Energy & IEQ are key interests of Shivraj. He served ASHRAE in several capacities and presently Shivraj is the President of ASHRAE Rajasthan Chapter. He is member of several Technical Committees of ISHRAE. Research scholars regularly interact with Shivraj for mentorship on variety of topics.

    Shivraj has facilitated 500+ green/NetZero building projects across the country. Authored technical guideline and more than 20 research articles in referred Journals.

  • Sampath Kumar

    Sampath Kumar is a Senior Counsellor at CII’s Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). He has been working with IGBC since 2007. He is an IGBC Accredited Professional, Green buildings Faculty & Assessor, and BEE Certified ECBC Master Trainer. Presently, Sampath leading is the IGBC’s Mission on Net Zero initiative. He is one of the Team Leaders in IGBC handling green building policy & advisory services, rating systems, capacity building
    of professionals, and representing IndiaGBC at WorldGBC. He holds Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad and Post-Graduation in Advanced Construction Management from NICMAR, Hyderabad (National Institute of Construction Management and Research). Sampath has also attended Asia-Pacific Green Building Leadership Program held in Australia, through WorldGBC and Australian Leadership Awards & Fellowships.

Discover a groundbreaking initiative with “Cities and Climate Change: Focus on Chennai,” a 10-part webinar series presented by INHAF under the visionary ClimACT-Chennai initiative. This series stands as a pioneering effort, igniting collaborative climate action and uniting diverse stakeholders toward a sustainable, climate-resilient future for Chennai, and potentially, for cities across India.

The webinar series aims to catalyze collaboration among experts, academics, policy-makers, advocates, practitioners, and CSOs/NGOs.
