Dr. Debarpita RoyFellow, Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP)
Dr. Debarpita Roy is a researcher at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP), New Delhi. Her research focus pertains to India’s contemporary urban issues including urban finance and affordable housing. Her research in affordable housing has looked at housing policy, aspects of demand for low-income housing, social rental housing and challenges faced in adoption of innovative technologies in construction in the Indian context. India’s municipal finance is another area of deep interest for her, and she has co-authored two reports on municipal finances for the 15th Finance Commission. She is a PhD in Economics from Centre of Economic Studies and Planning (CESP), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and a MA (Economics) from Delhi School of Economics, DU.

Dr. H. ChandrashekarFounder-Trustee, AltTech Foundation
Hariharan Chandrashekar is an economist by training who turned to business in the late 1980s with a mission to mainstream and accelerate sustainability directions for watersheds, water and energy management, as well as water- and energy-efficient buildings with no Capex addition and reduced Opex.
He is co-Founder and Trustee of AltTech Foundation (2003), Prem Jain Memorial Trust (2018), Academy for Mountain Environics (1991), and BCIL (1994). He is also a Senior Fellow and National Executive Member of the CII Indian Green Building Council (from 2003) and a Governing Council Member at INHAF.
He has striven to decentralise solutions that can make cities sustainable. He mentors solutions for old and new buildings and promotes education to produce green business managers. He has driven an initiative as a citizen-led campaign in Bengaluru for saving 1000 crore litres of water a year over four years (WOW Action Forum) in 2021. He also leads RainReach (https://www.alttech.foundation/rain-reach) which has impacted 5000 schoolchildren with a Net Zero Water programme. He also mentors Ecophoria that leads directions to nurture technology from the world over for solutioning sustainability in Indian cities. He mentors a new crop of green technologies, and sustainability professionals. He’s also advisor for the Paris-based Les Ateliers Maitrise d’oeuvre urbaine (‘Workshops for Urban Project Management’) on greening cities in Africa. His writings on the economics and ecology of urbanising have influenced substantial change.

Vasudevan SureshChairman, IGBC Policy, Advocacy and Government Relations Former CMD, HUDCO
Mr. Vasudevan Suresh was the former CMD of Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO). He is the Chairman of National Building Code of India including contents in Part 11 dealing with #sustainabledevelopment and #greenbuildings and Part 3 on special requirements of Low Income Housing . Mr. Vasudevan Suresh is the Chairman of IGBC Policy & Advocacy Committee and played a pivotal role in reaching out to various Government departments highlighting that offering suitable policy incentives will go a long way in accelerating the adoption of green building in India. Mr. Suresh was involved in the design and development of IGBC green building rating system for various asset classes of buildings including green cities and green villages.
